In just two weeks’ time all of our wallabies will have found their forever homes.

Most of the ’wallababies’ will have returned to the schools and community groups that created them, and after the Wallabies Gone Wild auction at the Villa Marina on Thursday, September, 26 our large sculptures could end up anywhere - literally.

Bids will potentially be taken from all over the world through the online auction that is being run by Chrystals Auctions on the UK Auctioneers platform.

As we approach our auction day with anticipation and excitement we are delighted to announce that the online bidding site has now been launched.

The 26 large sculptures that spent the summer in outdoor locations around the island will all be going under the hammer during thr auction, which will be led by celebrity auctioneer Charles Hanson, and we can’t wait to find out who will be bidding, how much they will sell for and where they will end up.

Also up for auction is the ’TT 2019’ wallababy.

Each of its stars features signatures from the big names of the Isle of Man TT Races, both past and present.

These include such famous racers as Michael Dunlop, John McGuinness, Conor Cummins, Phillip McCallen and Carl Fogarty.

Alongside these are two smaller wallabies which are the works of multiple artists, young and old, island residents and visitors, who donated to Hospice in return for their own creative space on these sculptures.

All 29 auction lots are now listed on ukauctioneers.com where people interested in buying a wallaby can view pictures, learn more about the artists that designed them, see estimated sales prices and register to bid ahead of the auction.

On the night, the current online bids will be shown on screens in the Royal Hall so people bidding from the venue will know how much they need to bid in order to top the online bidders.

Likewise, people using the online platform will be able to see the bidding activity from the Villa Marina on their screens.

Hospice Isle of Man is delighted to be working with Chrystals Auctions and UK Auctioneers who have very kindly waived their normal charges.

Three quarters of the profits from the auction will come to Hospice Isle of Man to help support our services and make them sustainable for the future.

The remaining 25% plus VAT goes to our event partners, Wild in Art.
