The commissioners are optimistic that the popular Waterplay Area in Mooragh Park, Ramsey, will be ready to reopen around the first week of August, with additional equipment and a new safety surface.

The chairman of Ramsey Commissioners, Andy Cowie, said everyone hoped the feature would be ready for use by families with young children during the school summer holidays.

The reopening was delayed by lockdown

Another leisure facility in the town - the Northern Swimming Pool - has been enhanced by LED lighting and refurbished changing rooms.

Juan McGuinness has campaigned for a long time for the previous lighting to be replaced by a new energy-saving system.

He said: ’It’s brilliant! The staff have worked so hard to get it done. It not only looks fantastic, we are hoping to see a drop in electricity bills. We are so lucky to have this facility in the town.’
