March 20 will mark three years since local music promoter Jonno Gollow died.

Jonno’s friends describe him as a massive fan of live music who helped many local musicians.

Each year his friends and colleagues at Aston International, a corporate services provider in Hope Street, Douglas, mark the occasion by hosting a ’Wear your old band T-shirt to work day’ where staff pay £1 and wear an old (or new) band T-shirt to work.

Proceeds from this casual clothes day will be donated to Soundcheck, which is a music project that promotes young musicians island-wide, producing regular live events and studio recordings.

Last year with help from local radio stations, Isle of Man Newspapers, and social media, the event was promoted encouraging other individuals and workplaces to join in. A total of £2,050 was raised.

This year will be the third annual event with this year’s event taking place on Friday, March 20.

There is a Facebook page (search Jonno Gollow) where people can let organisers know they are joining in. Participants are encouraged to share photos of them wearing their T-shirts on the day.

Any money raised can be donated through the Just Giving page www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/jonnosoldbandtshirtday2020
