The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for patchy ice.

The forecast:

Mainly dry, cloudy and cold with a moderate east or southeast wind and a top temperature of 5°C. Patchy ice around on higher ground. Outbreaks of rain or sleet through the evening and overnight into tomorrow that may fall as snow for a time over the hills. Winds increasing again to strong to near gale force.

Into tomorrow, rain, sleet and hill snow only gradually clearing as the day progresses and remaining cold with a brisk southeast wind, top temperature 7°C.

On Wednesday cloudy with outbreaks of rain at times. Slightly less cold with a highest temperature of 7°C and a fresh, locally strong, south or southeast wind.
