The weather forecast from the Met Office:
Heavy rain at first this morning will quickly clear, allowing some bright or sunny spells to develop, but also with some scattered showers which may be wintry particularly over the hills. Temperatures only reaching up to 7°C at best, and feeling much colder in the fresh to strong west to southwest wind.
Showers will merge into a spell of rain for a time this evening, with a few showers then continuing overnight, but moving through very quickly on the strong to near gale force westerly wind. Minimum temperature generally near to 3°C, but close to freezing over the hills.
Dry with some sunshine at first on Saturday, which will turn increasingly hazy as cloud spreads across the island, with outbreaks of rain arriving around dusk. Top temperature around 9°C, but becoming windy as the wind turns to the south or southwest and increases strong to gale force by evening, with gusts of 40-50 mph.
Rain at first on Sunday will soon die away, although it will remain fairly cloudy, with outbreaks of rain and drizzle returning during the afternoon. Still quite windy with a strong south-westerly wind, and highs of 10°C.
