The weather forecast:
A generally wet start, the rain heavy at times but tending to become patchier by late morning and then moving away from around lunchtime, with some sunshine developing this afternoon. Temperatures just 15 or 16 Celsius at best, with fresh or strong north-northeast winds.
Isolated showers this evening and tonight, with temperatures falling to 9°C later in the night as the winds slowly decrease.
Mostly dry with bright or sunny intervals over the weekend, with a moderate to fresh northerly wind slowly decreasing, but afternoon temperatures only reaching 14 or 15°C, and noticeably cooler during the overnight periods. Dry for Bank Holiday Monday, with variable amounts of cloud, and the wind swinging southerly by then.
