Airline Loganair is to launch weekend flights between Norwich and the island during next year’s TT.

Flights will operate on Fridays and Sundays for three weekends between May 25 and June 10.

They will be operated by the Dornier 328 aircraft based at Norwich, where Loganair has its only operating facility outside Scotland.

It employs a team of 30 to support the two Norwich-based aircraft mainly operating on regular services to Manchester and Edinburgh.

Loganair’s managing director Jonathan Hinkles said: ’We’re delighted to be introducing further, new services to our base at Norwich, where we have a tremendous and dedicated team of local pilots, cabin crew and engineers.

’We’ve carefully analysed demand for Isle of Man and we’ve decided to add the new Isle of Man flights to meet demand over the busiest weekends of the year as the world-famous TT races take place.’
