Highway chiefs have outlined the progress made so far on the Prom scheme.

Nearly 900m of water trunk main, 1.2km of electrical services, 800m of telecoms ducting and 350m of gas main have been installed

More than 1,800m of tram line has been laid and 280m of highway has been constructed on the seaward side of Queen’s Promenade.

On the landward side of Loch Promenade, 500m of the lower layers of road construction have been installed.

A programme of marketing support has been developed for businesses that have been affected by the Promenade works.

They can book a free one-hour marketing consultancy session and then access £2,000 to assist with marketing campaigns delivered by island-based agency Bold Consultancy.

Bold Consultancy will hold a series of marketing workshops tailored to the retail, hospitality and catering sectors, beginning this winter.

A single grant payment of £6,000 is available to help sustain qualifying businesses during difficult trading conditions.
