Douglas Council will collect natural Christmas trees for free from various points in the town on Saturday (January 11)

Its workers will be at Noble’s Park (Grandstand car park), 9am to 9.45am.

Governor’s Hill (next to play area), 10am to 10.45am.

Willaston (Snaefell Road - opposite shops) 11am to 11.45am.

Farmhill (Stevenson’s Way) Midday to 12.45pm.

Anagh Coar (car park) 1pm to 1.45pm.

Pulrose (shops) 2pm - 2.45pm.

Central Promenade (walkway opposite Palace Hotel and Casino) 3pm - 3.45pm.

Lord Street car park (next to the Barbary Coast restaurant) 4pm - 4.30pm.

Natural Christmas trees can also be taken for recycling to the council’s civic amenity site at Middle River Industrial Estate, Douglas.

The council will re-use the chipped material on its parks and gardens and in Summerhill Glen.

Hospice Isle of Man has also collected trees from homes as part of a fundraiser.
