Tynwald members will have to wait along with the rest of us to find out who is putting on the Christmas panto this year - oh yes they will!

Julie Edge (Onchan) tabled a question for Culture Minister Graham Cregeen in the House of Keys this week, asking who had been awarded the Gaiety Theatre gig.

Mr Cregeen said the Department for Education, Sport and Culture had tendered for providers of the next three years’ pantomimes. The tenderers had since been told the outcome of the process.

’One of the tenderers has requested a review of the assessment process and they have been informed of the outcome of the review,’ said Mr Cregeen.

Once agreements had been signed, he said, the details would be published.

The 2018 Christmas panto, Cinderella, was put on by the Parker & Snell Company. It said on Facebook that its bid to put on the pantos for the next three years had been rejected.
