If your business, charity or public sector team has done something outstanding this year then you should enter the Isle of Man Newspapers’ Awards for Excellence and tell everyone about it.
But don’t just take our word for that. Here is what some of last year’s winners, all very different and representing a wide range of sectors, have to say: ’Winning the award last year has boosted our profile massively on the island.
’We have new volunteers join us as a result of the publicity we received.
’All our volunteers were very appreciative for the recognition of years of service.’ Said the Isle of Man Civil Defence Corps Michelle Sayle, winners of the Award for Supporting our Community.
Seamus Nugent, managing director Dandara and winner of Business Leader of the Year 2019 added: ’We have proudly supported the Awards for Excellence for a number of years and in such a challenging year, it’s an opportunity for us to join together and celebrate those who have made such a positive contribution to our island community and I’d urge everyone to get involved if they can.’
Jane Corkill, arts development manager at Isle of Man Arts Council: ’We were absolutely thrilled to bits to win. We’ve worked hard in the last couple of years to raise the profile of the Arts Council and winning the award helped that enormously.
’We all use the logo on our [email] signatures and we are very proud of it.’
The Arts Council won the award for Nurturing our Arts, Culture and Heritage in 2019.
’I would encourage other public sector teams to enter the Awards for Excellence, to bring recognition and acknowledgement to the outstanding work that continues across Isle of Man Government on a daily basis,’ Anna Goldsmith, Cabinet Office, winners of Public Sector Achievement for the Year of Our Island project.
