The Curraghs Wildlife Park’s summer season starts tomorrow (Saturday).
That means the Ballaugh attraction will be open from 10am with last admissions at 5pm.
Bosses there say that arriving soon to the park is a group of African yellow mongoose.
They will share the porcupines’ enclosure. While the porcupines are nocturnal the the mongoose will be seen out and about during the daytime.
They are sometimes known as red meerkat due their colourings. Their behaviour is also similar to meerkat.
A visit to the park in Ballaugh also offers the chance to see the pair of silvery gibbons which arrived last year as part of an international endangered species’ breeding programme and are settling in well.
Another big draw is the lynx that arrived in July.
