Nichola Karen Whitlam-Bennett, aged 39, of Farrants Park, Castletown, has appeared in court charged with two counts of benefit fraud.

The offences are alleged to have been committed between 2018 and 2023 and involve an alleged overpayment of £29,829.

She was represented in court by advocate Stephen Wood who asked for an adjournment until July 18, saying that legal aid had only just been granted, with a contribution from the defendant.

Bail was granted in the sum of £500.
