A woolly-headed exhibition opens in the east of the island next week.

Textile community crafting group Fibrespace IOM (above) will hold ’Fibrefest’, a display of handmade arts and live demonstrations at the Hodgson Loom Gallery, Laxey, beginning on Monday, March 2, from 10.30am.

This is being held to coincide with the arrival of the travelling UNESCO Biosphere wall hangings collections, created by the craft group the Mannin Quilters at the gallery.

The crafters will be displaying the wide variety of wool and felt crafts they are able to produce as well as holding demonstrations of their skills.

The display is described as ’a celebration of our Manx biosphere, Manx fleece, fibre and a passion for all things woolly’.

There will also be felting workshops at the gallery held during the week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, throughout March, from 10.30am to 12.30pm and 2pm to 4pm.

The workshops cost £10 to take part in. For more information on the workshops, email [email protected]
