The Department of Environment Food and Agriculture’s hills, forests and glens division is currently working to improve car parks at two of its sites.
Contractors began work this week to improve the drainage and surface of the lower car park in Laxey Glen.
A path and footbridge is also to be installed across the stream connecting to the site of a new playground which will be built and opened before summer.
Visitors to the Glen are asked to follow all safety signage and any path diversions required.
It is anticipated the car park works will take approximately six weeks to complete.

Work has also commenced on the extension to ’Car Park 1’ at the south east corner of Archallagan Plantation near Foxdale.
This will require the closure of the car park for approximately eight weeks.
A temporary diversion of the community mountain bike trail will also apply throughout the period of works.
A 20-space car park has recently been completed near Sartfell Plantation to improve access and road safety.
Previously visitors needed to park on the Beinn-y-Phott and Sartfell roads when visiting the area which is popular with walkers and cyclists.
New biodiversity interpretation boards will also be installed.
The Department’s contractor has also recently completed the improvement works to the access roads to Colden Plantation car park and Angels Wood in West Baldwin and the areas are now open for use.
