Motorists in the south face traffic disruption this weekend as work starts to create a mini-roundabout on the main road in Ballasalla, at the entrance to Balthane industrial estate.
The new road layout, once complete, will result in traffic from the south having to give way to vehicles leaving the industrial estate.
Developer Dandara is shortly to submit a planning application for a by-pass between the Balthane junction and Glashen hill as part of a major new housing scheme.
A DoI spokesman said: ’Road users should be aware that traffic management measures will be in place during the works scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, which will include the removal of existing lines and the painting of the new layout.
’In the event of poor weather, the works will take place the following weekend, Saturday-Sunday, March 24-25.’
