The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning.
Forecasters say we should expect coastal overtopping.
The latest forecast:
Cloudy with some hill fog and the patchy rain becoming more widespread and heavy at times later this afternoon and evening. The moderate or fresh southeast winds becoming slightly stronger and temperatures 12 to 14 Celsius.
Prolonged spells of rain tomorrow, turning heavy at times, but then clearing away late afternoon or early evening. Fresh to strong southeast winds will decrease and veer west later in the day. Top temperatures around 13°C.
Thursday will be cloudy with outbreaks of rain developing, a freshening south-southwest wind with highs of 12 Celsius, then more rain on Friday with strong to gale force winds.
