The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for ice.

The forecast:

Dry today with some weak sunshine developing, but it will feel bitterly cold in the strong to gale force southeasterly winds. Maximum temperature 6 Celsius, and staying close to freezing over the hill tops.

Tonight will continue dry and largely clear, as the winds ease a little. Then tomorrow will be dry and bright, and although still cold it will be less windy with fresh or locally strong southeast winds.

Rain developing tomorrow night, this turning heavy and persistent on Saturday. Sunday will then be much better, with sunshine and only isolated showers.
