The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for ice.

The forecast:

A slight risk of icy patches at first today, and it will be a cold and rather breezy day, but there will be plenty of bright or sunny intervals and only isolated wintry showers. Maximum temperature 5 Celsius, with fresh to strong westerly winds.

Later this evening and tonight the wintry showers will become more frequent, with slight accumulations of snow and hail likely in places, particularly over the hills. Then tomorrow will be bright and cold with a continuing risk of a few wintry showers, but the winds will be lighter.

Frost at first on Thursday, then gradually turning cloudy and milder through the day with a little rain developing.
