There is currently a Yellow Weather Warning in place for coastal overtopping until 4pm.
The MET Office said that the areas most at risk are Shore Road (Rushen), Castletown promenade, the northern end of Douglas promenade and to a lesser extent parts of Ramsey and Laxey promenades.
High tide is expected at 2.35pm, bringing with it rough waves and debris.
A Yellow Weather Warning is code for risk of bad weather affecting activities, travel delays, risk of minor damage, and localised or temporary disruption.
