The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning.

Strong winds could lead to coastal overtopping.

The forecast:

Some rain in places at first this morning then mostly dry but generally cloudy, with the brisk southwest winds becoming stronger. Temperatures rising to 15 or 16 Celsius.

Windy tonight with the chance of patchy light rain or drizzle. Temperatures no lower than 12°C.

Generally dry tomorrow and becoming fairly bright with some sunshine at times but still with strong south-southwest winds, perhaps occasionally touching gale force in places. Top temperature 16°C.

Less breezy for Wednesday with bright or sunny spells and temperatures up to 18°C away from windward coasts.
