The Isle of Man Yoga Network has announced its future programme.
The committee was re-elected at its annual general meeting - chairman, Sue Woolley; treasurer, Annie Anderson; secretary, Heidi Danaher. Linda Carswell, Daxa Patel, Kel Smith and Howard Caine were re-elected onto the committee and are joined by new members Clare Roberts, Stephanie Kirwen and Christine Allen.
The organisation was founded in 2004 to promote yoga and currently has 80 members, including many teachers. The annual subscription is £6.
The next event will be an evening and full day of workshops on Friday and Saturday, November 10 and 11, with visiting tutor Geoff Powell.
Sue Woolley said: ’Geoff is a highly experienced and inspirational teacher who has been visiting us for quite a few years now from his base in North Wales. Having studied with some of the leading teachers of the day, including BKS Iyengar, he went on to found his own Antara School of Yoga and some of our own teachers studied with him for their diplomas.
’The venue will be the spacious, clean and comfortable Lezayre Community Hall, Clennagh Road, Sulby. There will be an evening session on the Friday (6pm - 8pm), specially tailored to teachers and keen students. Saturday’s all-day workshop (10am - 4pm) will be suitable for all levels, from beginners to advanced.’
