Airline easyJet has reassured Manx residents that all bookings can currently be transferred, while cancelled flights can be refunded either by a voucher or money.

There had been concern that with easyJet soon to be returning to the island, residents with bookings could lose money if their scheduled flight went ahead but they couldn’t fly due to the border restrictions.

However, a spokesman for the airline has told The Courier that the reintroduction of flights to Liverpool and Gatwick has not changed the status of bookings.

’Customers on cancelled flights can transfer to an alternative flight free of charge or receive a voucher for the value of their booking online’ the spokesman said.

’Customers may also request a refund by submitting a claim in writing via a dedicated refund webform online. We are processing refunds for customers and aim to so in less than 28 days.

’For customers whose flights are not cancelled but would like to move to a later date they can currently amend their flight online with no change fee and we have brought forward our schedule on-sale so customers have more choice to move their flights, up to May 4 2021.’

Meanwhile the airline has indicated that it believes there is demand for its flights, due to return on June 15, and it continues to work closely with airport bosses, regulators and other relevant authorities to ensure its operates within ’relevant guidelines’ when flights do resume.
