A group of young actors will perform their entry to a UK-wide drama festival later this month.

The Kensington Arts Youth Drama group will perform ’Hunt’, their entry to the National Theatre ’Connections’ Youth Drama festival at the Kensington Road Youth Arts Centre over three nights, from Thursday, March 17, to Saturday, March 19, at 7pm, along with a matinee performance on Saturday from 2pm.

’Hunt’ is about a group of teenagers playing their version of hide and seek, taking objects from their neighbours’ back gardens, and dumping them without being caught, by either the official pursuers or the neighbours whose gardens they are infringing upon.

The cast are made up of young actors, aged from 12 to 16 years old from the island’s secondary schools and the University College Isle of Man.

After performing the play in the island, they will travel to the UK to take part in the festival alongside 300 fellow youth theatre groups during April, performing at the York Theatre Royal.
