Students were recognised for their artistic talents following this year’s Isle of Man Art Society (IOMAS) spring exhibition.

The event saw 97 artists showcase their 422 pieces of artwork at the event, which was held at St Ninian’s Lower School in Onchan, with a total of 141 pieces being sold.

A children’s art competition was held for pupils at the lower school. It was judged by Andrew Dixon, a partner at accountancy firm Moore Stephens, which has supported the event for four years, and Erica Kermode, chair of the IOMAS.

Winners were announced at a prize-giving event with Minatella Osman from year seven being announced as the overall winner.

Ms Kermode said: ’The standard of work exhibited by members of the society this year was higher than ever, with a wide range of styles and media.

’It was really good to see new artists exhibiting for the first time alongside established exhibitors.
