There are two trail races on consecutive days this weekend, which is somewhat unfortunate.
Manx Harriers is promoting the first event, based at South Barrule plantation, on Saturday morning, with a choice of 2km, 5km or 10km distances.
All start and finish at the plantation car park, utilising the fire tracks and Corlea/Whiskey Run for the longest event (Corlea for the 5km).
Competitors are recommended to wear a decent pair of trail running shoes. There will be a presentation in and around the Coffee Cottage afterwards.
Entries close 6pm on Friday, November 22 (www.manxtimingsolutions.com) with fees of £6 for club affiliated runners (£8 non-affiliated), £2 for under-10s (shorter race). First race begins at 10am.
l Round two of Western AC’s Trail Track Ten series is on Sunday. Signing-on is from 9.15am at the car park alongside the transport museum on Mill Road, Peel for a 10am start.
Entry fees: £2 for school children, £5 attached athletes, £7 unattached. Distances: 1km for ages 7-8, 2km 9-12, 5km for 13 upwards; 10km for ages 16 and above.
Any help with marshalling much appreciated.
