Baker Tilly Isle of Man won the badminton association’s annual business tournament at the NSC recently.
Seven teams were involved in a round-robin format, with each team consisting of women’s, men’s and two mixed doubles pairs.
This year saw some new businesses involved with the afternoon providing a first badminton experience for some of the players.
Badminton development officer Kerry Quayle said: ’Saturday afternoon proved a success, with everyone involved enjoying a full afternoon of badminton. Hopefully we will now see some of these faces move into our local clubs.
’I am pleased we were able to offer the ’No Strings’ badminton sessions over the summer as an opportunity for businesses to practice for the tournament.
’I am also extremely grateful to Utmost Wealth Solutions for sponsoring the event for a second year. They have been a pleasure to work with yet again and it was great to see so many of their employees involved.’
Shaun Lewis from Utmost Wealth Solutions who finished runners-up added: ’This is the second year we’ve sponsored this tournament and it’s really great that so many businesses are entering teams.
’The tournament was really close in points and we’ll certainly be back next year, hopefully competing again for the trophy.’
