Cricket’s mid-week activity is continuing to grow and, with the weather playing its part, there are an increasing number of games and a significant amount of runs being scored.

The upcoming TT break may prove welcome for some of the island’s bowlers.

Daniel Dickinson was the latest to join the hundred club in Monday night’s Forrester League. He notched up the 11th of the season, beating the 10 scored all last year.

It’s too early to see who the front runners in the junior and senior midweek leagues are as all teams are recording strong performances at all levels.

l Cronkbourne host Peel and St John’s in the 40-over Premiership on Saturday.

With both sides clearly able to field very strong XIs it isn’t easy to predict who will come out on top.

Cronkbourne have been strong in all competitions but it will be interesting to see what happens if the PSJ bowlers get through the top order as they have yet to lose more than four wickets in a game.

This means the batting of Nathan Knights, Adam Killey and the bowlers has yet to be tested which could prove their downfall.

PSJ are, however, without a few key players too so this game is definitely going to prove interesting.

The weekend’s other games should also prove hard to call.

Ramsey host Castletown in an adapted double header which will see the victor of this league match also progressing in the Tinker Cup to a semi-final tie with Valkyres.

The final match sees Crosby host the IoMCA Development XI and there will be a large number of youngsters on view in these games for both teams as Crosby rebuild and the Development XI continuing its policy of blooding youth in challenging competitions.

If the latter can pull out the same gutsy performances as last week they could run Crosby close.

l The junior leagues sees a comprehensive number of fixtures through the week at under-11 and u13 level with more teams added this week because of increased players at clubs.
