The Blincoe Cup starts on Saturday as the fledgling cricket continues at the weekend.
Two ties are scheduled for this week in the competition’s entertaining format of two innings of 16 eight-ball overs.
It is the first outing of the campaign for three of the teams involved with Finch Hill, Ramsey and Union Mills starting their 2017 season.
Joining them is the Isle of Man Cricket Association Development side who tackle the preliminary round of this trophy after playing in the opening round of the Tinker Cup last weekend.
Ramsey host Finch Hill at the Grammar School in one tie while the Millers’ welcome the Development XI to Garey Mooar.
The association’s youngsters will be looking for an improved performance against a different opposition to the strong Peel and St John’s side that beat them by 239 runs last weekend.
In what looks like an interesting weekend it is notable the amount of young players who will be on show again with the Development XI having nearly all its academy and emerging players available for this game.
