The Alex Forrest Charity two-up 10-mile time trial takes place tomorrow, Wednesday, on the out-and-back Ramsey course, based at the Mountain View film studios on Jurby Road on the outskirts of Ramsey.

The start time will be as near to 6.30pm as possible because of diminishing daylight restrictions.

The entry fee is £10 per rider, including refreshments.

A TLI licence is required and riders must be 12 or older. Please note, rear lights must be used for this event.

All proceeds will be donated to St John Ambulance.

l SAS Events is staging the Canada Life International Douglas Kermesse on the evening of Saturday, September 22.

The event details are on the website www.sasevents.im

The event was scheduled to be the final points-scoring round of the Bikestyle Championship.

This has been changed as it is too difficult to handicap effectively and safely.

Entry to the kermesse is free to all Bikestyle series competitors.

manx road club celebrate

80th birthday next month

l Manx Road Club is celebrating its 80th birthday on Saturday, October 6 with a sportive ride during the day and a dinner in the evening.

The 80km sportive will depart the NSC at 9am, while the three-course carvery dinner and presentation will be held at the Mount Murray Country Club from 7.30pm.
