The End to End mountain bike challenge, scheduled to take place on Sunday, September 13, has been cancelled.

It comes as a real shock as local cycling is now back up and running almost in its entirety, but a post on Facebook yesterday morning highlighted ’very real concerns surrounding the pandemic’.

The release continued: ’With the wellbeing of the marshals and the riders at the forefront of our minds it is with a very heavy heart that the committee have decided to cancel the event for 2020. All riders entered will receive a full refund.’

By contrast, the opening round of the rescheduled RL360 Youth Cycling League takes place at the NSC this evening (Tuesday). A come and try it session last week saw more than 250 children attend. The action starts at 6.45.

More than 90 took part in round two of the Bikestyle Handicap Road Race League at Jurby last Thursday evening.
