Dan Sayle is reported to be serious but stable in a UK hospital following his hefty crash at Ballaspur on the opening lap of the Lightweight race.

The 36-year-old Manxman (above) qualified fifth fastest on the Steelcote Solutions Yamaha and was tipped for a possible podium finish.

He came off at the same left-hander where fellow local Richard ‘Milky’ Quayle famously crashed in 2003.

Sayle, who suffered multiple injuries in the incident, was taken by airmed to Noble’s and then transferred to another hospital in Liverpool on Sunday. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Dan, who has won three MGPs, is the most successful passenger in sidecar TT history with no fewer than eight wins to his credit.

David Linsdell, son of Steve and brother of Olie, is stable in Noble’s with a leg injury.

Bernie Wright, who was also injured in the same incident last Thursday close to Black Hut, is also stable in a UK hospital.

American David Crussell is stable after crashing at Brandywell on Friday evening.
