The Mountain Course will be closed for emergency Festival of Motorcycling qualifying on Thursday and Friday afternoons after Wednesday evening’s session was beset by more problems.

After a troublesome week that has seen Monday and Tuesday evening’s practices cancelled because of low visibility on the mountain section of the course, Wednesday evening’s session was delayed as emergency services dealt with a RTC at Guthrie’s which occurred prior to roads closing.

This left organisers with time for only be a single lap for newcomers, accompanied by experienced riders.

The additional sessions, which were provisionally scheduled in the race authorisation, will now be used to ensure that riders have sufficient practice time ahead of the Classic TT’s first scheduled race day on Saturday, August 25.
