There could once again been new leaders at the top of JCK Division Two at the end of this weekend’s round of fixtures.

With current table-toppers sitting it out on Saturday, both Ayre United and Union Mills will have first place in their sights when they face Michael United and Onchan respectively.

The second-placed Tangerines will start as favourites against Michael but the Aces pushed Premier League side Douglas Athletic all the way in the FA Cup last time out before losing on penalties so this one could be close.

In a quirk of the fixtures, Mills tackle Onchan for the second time in a week and will be desperate to avenge the 3-1 defeat they suffered against the Os at Garey Mooar in last weekend’s cup.

Should either of those sides slip up, Braddan will be waiting in the wings to take advantage and can go level on points with Colby should they get the better of Douglas and District. The latter battled well against Premier League champions St Mary’s last weekend so this could be a tough contest.

Only two points further back are St John’s who host Foxdale at Mullen-e-Cloie. With both teams having several games in hand on those above them, they will be keen to get 2020 off to a winning start in the league - this one could go either way.

The latest installment of the ’Tony Sewell derby’ takes place at Bemahague when his new side Governor’s Athletic take on Gymns at 2.30pm, while another of his former clubs - Malew - welcome RYCOB to Clagh Vane.
