The battle for glory in the GH Corlett Woods Cup comes to a conclusion this weekend when the showpiece final takes place at the Bowl on Saturday.
Locking horns at the national stadium will be Braddan and Castletown, with both sides looking to claim the trophy for the second time in their club’s respective histories.
Town - who originally donated the silverware to the Isle of Man Football Association in memory of former Steam Packet commodore captain George Woods - won the competition back in 1960-61 thanks to an 8-2 victory over Laxey at the old Bowl stadium.
The Swans’ sole success, meanwhile, arrived 16 years later when they defeated Gymns 2-0 in the final also at the same venue, therefore each club will be eager to lift the Division Two knockout trophy for a second time.
Castletown currently occupy second place in JCK Division Two but have played no fewer than six games more than Braddan who are only a point adrift in fourth and the latter are expected to claim promotion and possibly the league title.
Therefore the Victoria Road side go into this game as favourites for success, especially considering they inflicted a humbling 11-1 defeat on Castletown when the sides last met earlier in the season.
The scoreline does not tell the whole story though, as Town played the majority of that match with 10 men after having a man sent off early on when 1-0 up.
The Mets have also already knocked out second division leaders Douglas Royal out of this competition so will know that they can cause Braddan problems on their day. That being said though, the Swans are in superb form at the moment and, with Andy Glover and Conor Dempsey firing on all cylinders up front, will certainly fancy their chances of getting their hands on the silverware.
Will Smith’s charges have a near full complement of players to chose from, with only Jamie Delaney absent following his red card in the previous round’s win over Pulrose United.
Notable absentees for Castletown will be junior island player Noah Sansbury, while new signings Conor Smith and Chris Hawthorn are also unavailable as is Nathan Cooil with a long-term injury.
The team is boosted by the return of experienced centre-back Richard Foden who played a key role in helping his side progress to the final and will be tasked with trying to keep the aforementioned Glover and Dempsey quiet.
All this points to an intriguing game - kickoff is at 3pm.
