This weekend’s fixtures in JCK Division Two kickoff earlier than usual, with St John’s hosting Douglas and District under the floodlights on Friday evening.
The fourth-placed Saints will be favourites to triumph at Mullen-e-Cloie but D&D made life difficult for them in the reverse fixture when the Johnners were forced to come from behind to win 4-2 at Noble’s Park.
The top seven could look very different by the end of play on Saturday with four of the sides going head-to-head, namely Braddan v Ayre and Onchan v Foxdale.
The former match pits the fifth-placed Swans against second-placed Ayre which is a tricky game to call. The Tangerines edged the reverse 3-2 and will fancy their chances of coming out on top again this time around, but Braddan are a good team and one of the few to have taken any points from leaders Colby so should not be underestimated.
Sixth-placed Onchan currently lead Foxdale by five points but the latter have several games in hand over all other sides in the division so are perhaps in a false position at present.
The two teams’ form is identical with four wins and two defeats in their last six outings so this could potentially be a close match that could go either way.
Leaders Colby will be expected to get the better of Gymns at the Station Fields when the sides lock horns, as will RYCOB who travel to Bemahague to face Governor’s Athletic, while Michael United head south to take on Malew in a game they will be vourites to win.
