After the preliminary round of the FA Cup took centre stage last weekend, JCK Division Two action resumes this Saturday afternoon.
The fixture list has thrown up a couple of tasty-looking contests this weekend, including a repeat of one of last week’s games.
The match in question sees Malew travel to Garey Mooar to take on a Union Mills side that edged past them by the odd goal in seven in the reverse fixture at Clagh Vane, meaning the southerners missed the chance to move up to third.
That result also propelled Mills back into contention for a possible top-four finish and so there will be plenty at stake when they lock horns again on Saturday.
In the north of the island, RYCOB face a tricky test of their title aspirations as they welcome sixth place Onchan to Scoill ree Gorree. It’s been an indifferent season so far for the Os but they recorded an impressive 5-3 win over Foxdale recently which has put them back into the top- four mix, although they will be underdogs this weekend.
Leaders Pulrose United will be favourites to get the better of Douglas and District at Noble’s Park, but a decent showing against top flight Douglas Athletic in the cup means D&D cannot be taken lightly.
Should either of the teams above them slip up, third-placed Ramsey will be ready to pounce as they take on bottom-of-the-table Governor’s Athletic, while fourth-placed Foxdale should prove too strong for Michael United, but Gymns versus Colby could prove to be a close contest.
