There’s another huge match taking place in JCK Division Two this weekend, one which is likely to impact on the race for promotion and maybe even the title.
The game in question sees current league leaders Pulrose United host pre-season title favourites RYCOB.
A forward line boasting the likes of Stephen Glover, Barry English and now Marc Priestnal has fired Pully to the league summit, the latter man continuing his fine goalscoring start to life at Springfield Road with a hat-trick last weekend.
By contrast, Youthie’s title charge has been derailed in recent weeks, with the Scoill ree Gorree side suffering three successive defeats which has dropped them down to fourth.
Therefore the northerners will be chomping at the bit to set things right and get back to winning ways.
Home advantage may play a part but an intriguing game should be in store.
Another interesting fixture could be on the cards when Marown host Union Mills, both sides having won four out of their last five games as they bid to break into the top four.
In-form Foxdale, who beat Youthie 4-0 last time out, need to be wary of complacency when they welcome Douglas and District, a side that shocked Marown a couple of weeks ago.
Castletown and Malew will be expected to get the better of lowly Gymns and Governor’s Athletic respectively, but Michael United might just cause a surprise or two when they travel north to take on Ayre United in Andreas.
