There’s another big match at the foot of the Canada Life Premier League on Saturday afternoon, as two of the bottom four go head-to-head.

After games against fellow stragglers Douglas Royal and Ramsey in the past fortnight, second-bottom Colby host Braddan at the Station Fields.

The southerners have slipped into the relegation zone in recent weeks and their last two matches have only coughed up a solitary point.

Three points this weekend, however, could drag them back out of the trapdoor places and put the pressure back on their rivals to beat the drop.

After a bright start to the campaign, Braddan are now only a couple points better off than Colby after a run of six games without a win.

This one could go either way.

Ramsey will remain bottom at Christmas even if they spring a big shock and triumph at league leaders Corinthians.

The latter will also be keen to impress with the Louis Thornton stand being officially opened at midday in the lead up to kick-off at 2pm.

Royal’s hopes of adding to their survival fund also looks bleak with a trip to in-form Peel on the cards this weekend.

Further up the standings, St George’s arrested their recent wobble with a 6-3 win at St Mary’s last weekend.

The reigning champions host a Laxey side still smarting from a 0-6 defeat at the hands of Peel.

DHSOB can sneak back into the top four if results go their way at the weekend.

Wayne Kennedy’s side host St Mary’s at Blackberry Lane boasting the league’s best defensive record and best current form.

Fresh from a fine 2-1 victory at Rushen, St John’s will be aiming to consolidate their own top-four hopes when they host Douglas Athletic.

The Johnners are proving hard to beat this season and may just edge this one against an Athletic side that has suffered back-to-back defeats against Peel and DHSOB.
