Union Mills’ relegation from the Canada Life Premier League could finally be confirmed this weekend.
The Millers travel south to take on the side one place and seven points above them in the league table, Colby. A win for the Moonlighters would see them move onto 16 points, 10 above Mills with only three games left and nine points to play for, therefore sealing the Garey Mooar side’s relegation.
Neither side has won in the league since the turn of the year, indeed the last time either side won a match was when Colby triumphed 4-2 after extra-time against the Millers when the teams met in the FA Cup nearly two months ago. Colby go into this match favourites to claim the three points on offer to secure their top flight status for another year. However, with Mills knowing that this is their last-chance saloon, they will be throwing everything into thise so an intriguing contest could be in store.
With six sides in FA Cup action, there are only two other games taking place in the Premier League this weekend. In the east of the island, Laxey could move to within a point of sixth-placed DHSOB should they get the better of the Blackberry Lane side at Glen Road.
The Miners were held to a 1-1 draw by Ramsey last time out, while Old Boys lost at Rushen, so both will be eager to get back to winning ways.
The other top flight game sees Corinthians continue their push for second with a tricky trip to St John’s, while the sole JCK Division Two contest plots Marown against Malew.
