As we head into the penultimate round of league games of 2019, Jordan Cooper continues to head the top-flight’s Golden Boot standings.

The Laxey striker has hit 16 goals in 10 appearances following a summer move from reigning champions St Mary’s.

The former Gymns and Castletown forward, who has two hat-tricks to his name, has a four-goal lead over Dan Hattersley in the standings.

The latter has struck 12 in eight appearances to help the Bowl outfit to the head of the Canada Life Premier League.

Former professional Hattersley’s St Mary’s team-mates Frank Jones and Jack McVey have also been among the goals this term.

The pair sit joint third in the Golden Boot rankings with 11 goals apiece, the trio accounting for 34 of the reigning champions’ 58 goals this term.

Old Firm rivals Peel and Rushen United provide the only other two players to have hit double figures so far this season.

Western wing wizard Lee Gale and United centre-forward Jamie Johnston have both troubled the scorers 10 times each to complete the Golden Boot’s current top six.
