St Mary’s have completed the signing of a new striker ahead of the start of the new Canada Life Premier League season, but it’s perhaps not the one expected.
Calum Morrissey’s move from top-flight rivals St George’s has been rumoured for several weeks, but the paperwork is yet to be received by the Isle of Man FA.
The Saints have added to their attacking arsenal in the last few days, however, bringing in young forward Jordan Cooper from Division Two Gymns.
Cooper netted 19 league goals from the Tromode outfit last term and could prove a handy addition to the Bowl squad as they look to challenge for silverware this term.
One of Cooper’s former clubs Castletown should be among the second tier’s promotion contenders this season and they have picked up goalkeeper turned goalscorer Ross Mulligan from rivals Rushen United.
Moving in the opposite direction is Adam Kinley who has signed on at Croit Lowey for the forthcoming season.
Douglas and District’s now almost annual influx of fresh blood has continued.
The Noble’s Park club have picked up their sixth and seventh new faces of the summer window in the shape of Josh Knights and Jamie Redmond.
Ayre United have registered Matthew Jauncey, Christopher Curtis and Charlie Whittaker ahead of their return to JCK Division Two after relegation from the Premier League last time out.
The transfer window shuts at midday on September 2, although players are allowed to move clubs before December 31 if both sides agree.
