One of the Keystone Law Hospital Cup’s main contenders will bow out at the competition’s first-round proper stage on Saturday.
Holders St George’s have been draw against arch rivals Peel in the pick of the weekend’s eight ties.
The pair met near the end of February in the Premier League, Geordies winning 3-1 on that occasion.
Since then the Glencrutchery Road club’s Grand Slam hopes have been dashed by Corinthians in the FA Cup, but they will still be eyeing the treble with intent.
Peel were a little flat as they were beaten by the Whites in Easter’s FA Cup final and will need to be at the top of their game if they are to oust a Geordies side that has scored 29 goals in its last four games.
Corinthians could still claim the Grand Slam this campaign, but face one of the few sides that has beaten them on Saturday when they host DHSOB.
Old Boys triumphed at Ballafletcher in November, but Corinthians haven’t lost since then suggesting a home win in this one.
The round’s other all top-flight encounter sees Rushen United host neighbours Colby in what should be a fairly straightforward win for the Croit Lowey outfit.
Three Division Two sides will be hoping to pull off cupsets when they face teams from the Premier League.
RYCOB take on player-manager Harry Weatherill’s former club St Mary’s in a game that has been switched to the Bowl.
If the Youthie side that started the season so well turn up the Saints might be in for a tough afternoon, if not it should be a straightforward win for Alex Harrison’s side.
Douglas and District face Douglas Athletic in a game the latter should emerge the victor in.
Top-flight St John’s should also see their name in the hat for the second-round draw when they host inconsistent Division Two side Union Mills at Mullen-e-Cloie.
There will be at least two second-tier teams in the second round after four were drawn against each other.
Malew should just have the edge over host Ayre United having won both of this season’s league meetings between the duo.
The other game looks a harder one to call, with Marown making the short trip to promotion rivals Foxdale. This one could go either way.
