DHSOB claimed a dramatic and controversial victory over Douglas Athletic in the Canada Life Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The Pinks appeared to be on course for victory courtesy of Luke Jollands’ deflected second-half strike.

But two late goals from Old Boys turned the game on its head as tensions boiled over in the closing stages. First, Robbie Ward levelled matters at the second attempt despite appearing to be offside, then substitute Jack Townsend curled home a 94th minute winner for the hostsd to claim victory.

DAFC’s Lee Ford - having been subbed off - and manager Craig Purvis were both sent off for their vehement protests at the respective goals.

Elsewhere in the top flight, champions St Mary’s marched on but they were made to work hard by Marown before triumphing 3-0 in Crosby.

Corinthians were in ruthless form as they swept aside Pulrose United in a match switched to Ballafletcher as a counter towards Railway Cup qualification.

Sean Doyle led the way for the Whites with a hat-trick and was joined on the scoresheet by braces from Luke Murray and Stephen Whitley along with a Kane Ridings strike.

On the adjacent pitch at Ballafletcher, Peel were made to work hard to overcome the spirited challenge of Douglas Royal.

Tom Chatel netted for the Paul Whitley netted for the hosts but a hat-trick from Dan Simpson - on his return to Ballafletcher - plus a Kerron Christian effort sealed a 4-2 win for the westerners.

The big game in JCK Division Two saw leaders Colby boost their title hopes with an impressive victory against challengers Union Mills in a match switched to the Station Fields.

Carl Hickey scored twice to put the Moonlighters in control and, despite Kyle Uren halving the deficit for the Millers, Colby held on for a 2-1 victory.

At the opposite end of the island, St John’s claimed a fine 4-2 win away at RYCOB to boost their own title hopes.

Richard Winn scored the goal of the game with a superb overhead kick for the Saints before Sam Ingham put the away side 2-0 up.

Darren Hudgeon pulled a goal back for Youthie before half-time but Paul Whitehead restored the visitors’ two-goal cushion.

Andy Cleator scored a fine goal to put Youthie back in with a chance but St John’s secured a 4-1 win with another goal late on.

Just down the west coast, Michael United and Braddan played out a 2-2 draw at Balleira Road.

Ciaran McNulty and Frazer Campbell grabbed the goals for the Aces, but Ben O’Neill and Lucas Watterson secured a draw for the Swans.
