The Keystone Law Hospital Cup reaches its quarter-final stage this Saturday afternoon.
Pick of the four ties is probably at Douglas Road, where the Premier League’s current top two meet for the second time in seven days.
Peel and St Mary’s met in the weekend’s FA Cup final, the westerners taking the Easter honours 3-1 after extra-time.
The Saints, who only need one point to clinch this season’s top-flight crown, will be eager to bounce back against a Peel side that could yet end the campaign with a cup treble.
This too could go to extra time, but the momentum maybe now just with Steve Falconer’s hosts.
The two remaining Division Two sides in the competition have more than a fair chance of making it into the semi-finals.
Foxdale, who could yet end the campaign with promotion, make the relatively short trip to Crosby and top-flight Marown.
The latter side comfortably met this season’s objective of preserving their top-flight status and will want to finish their campaign on a high. Dave Brew’s team required extra-time to see off Division Two RYCOB in the previous round and may require the additional 30 minutes again to negotiate their way past Foxdale.
The other second-tier side aiming to pull off a shock are Ramsey who host DHSOB at Ballacloan.
The northerners were not at their best in Good Friday’s Woods Cup final, but could yet make the semi-finals of this competition if they see off an Old Boys side that have been the dictionary definition of inconsistent this season.
The Blackberry Lane outfit will start as marginal favourites, but don’t discount Anthony Cooper’s second-tier side.
The remaining last-eight game is an all Premier League-affair at Springfield Road where Douglas Athletic play host to holders St George’s.
Geordies will start this one as favourites having triumphed in both league meetings between the pair this term, including a 12-0 win at Glencrutchery Road in November.
