The race for this season’s Canada Life Premier League Golden Boot award looks set to go right to the wire.

Corinthians’ striker Sean Doyle continues to lead the way with 24 goals to his name as he enjoys a superb season for the Whites.

However, he is only one goal ahead of his Peel counterpart Rhys Oates who has been one of the league’s leading lights this season following his summer switch from St John’s to Douglas Road.

Three goals further back but right in contention is Furo Davies who has been in fine fettle for St George’s throughout the campaign and, with games in hand over the two players above him, could certainly lift the coveted award.

Multiple Golden Boot winner Ciaran McNulty has, by his high standards, had a relatively quiet campaign in front of goal but the Geordies frontman has been right back in form in recent weeks and, after four goals at Castletown followed by a hat-trick at Marown, he is right back in the mix for this season’s accolade.

He is currently level on 16 goals with St Mary’s striker Darren Hudgeon and Peel winger Lee Gale.

Leading the way in JCK Division Two in the race for the Silver Boot is Marc Priestnal who looks a surefire favourite to lift the award at the end of the season.

To date, the Pulrose United striker has netted no fewer than 31 goals, which is nearly double that of his nearest challenger, Kyle Uren of Union Mills with 16 goals to his name.
