Foxdale suffered a dramatic last-minute heartbreak in their quest to qualify for this season’s Friends Provident FA Cup final.
That was until Tom Wood popped up with a 93rd minute winner to seal a come-from-behind victory and maintain the westerners’ hopes of winning a remarkable 32nd FA Cup.
In the first competitive first team meeting between the sides for 20 years, it was Foxdale who began the brighter and stunned their more illustrious hosts by opening the scoring in the 10th minute when Scott Kermeen was the man to benefit from a goalkeeping howler to put his side ahead.
Despite Peel hitting the woodwork twice in the first half, it remained 1-0 at half-time before Stuart Fayle produced a superb save after the interval to deny the hosts’ Ryan Holdaway.
However, the visitors’ resistance was finally broken in the 68th minute when Ashley Webster turned and fired home his 100th goal for the club from the edge of the area.
Then, just when it looked like an extra 30 minutes and a possible penalty shootout would be required to separate the sides, up stepped Wood to drill home Webster’s cross in the 93rd minute to deliver a cruel and decisive blow to Foxdale.
In the other semi-final, Grand Slam-chasers St George’s overcame a scare to defeat Douglas Athletic at Glencrutchery Road.

However, Mikey Callister grabbed an unlikely equaliser not long after to raises hopes of possibly one of the greatest cupsets in Manx football history.
But Geordies responded in typical fashion by quickly retaking the lead thanks to Calum Morrissey before Furo Davies soon made the tie safe with a third.
There was still time for the Saints to put a bit more gloss on the scoreline, Chris Bass Jr and Joey Morling making it 5-1 in the final few minutes.
