The Friends Provident International FA Cup provides the fodder for the latest Team of the Week selection.

Nine of Saturday’s 10 preliminary round ties went ahead as planned, with only Foxdale’s match with Braddan falling foul of the weather.

Although the Premier League’s leading lights largely emerged unscathed, there was chance for some of the Division Two’s alumni to catch the eye of the TotW selectors.

This includes Gymns goalkeeper Jonathan Cregeen who produced a Man-of-the-Match performance as Tony Sewell’s Tromode outfit edged past Michael United 2-1 after extra-time.

Also flying the flag for Division Two in the hypothetical line-up are strikers Marc Priestnal (Pulrose) and Alex Crawley (Castletown).

Priestnal continued his good form since his mid-season move from St Mary’s on Saturday, netting in Pully’s 2-0 victory at Union Mills.

Crawley is among the form players in the island at the moment, netting a FOURTH hat-trick in a row for Town as they progressed past southern neighbours Malew 4-2 at the Stadium.

The Silver Boot contenders are joined in the attacking third by St John’s pair Rhys Oates and Richard Winn.

The pair were among the goals as the Johnners wracked up a 13-0 win over Douglas and District, Oates netting a brace and Winn five in the Mullen-e-Cloie mauling.

The TotW’s three-man midfield were also among the goals themselves starting with Peel’s Lee Gale who bagged a hat-trick as the westerners edged out Old Firm rivals Rushen 4-3 at Douglas Road.

The in-form winger is joined by Lee Ford (Douglas Athletic) and Corinthians’ new signing Ryan Gartland in the XI.

Ford came back to haunt former club DHSOB, finding the back of the net as Pinks won 3-1 at Springfield Road to tee up a first-round tie against Douglas Royal.

Gartland, who signed for the Whites from Athletic, nudges out Corinthians’ team-mates Sean Doyle, Luke Murray and Ste Whitley to land his place in the team.

All four were among the goals as the Premier League leaders beat Division Two’s bottom side Governor’s Athletic 15-0 at Bemahague.

The TotW’s three-man backline influenced their respective games at both ends of the pitch.

St George’s full-back Sam Caine helped his side keep a clean sheet and scored at the other end of the pitch as the holders beat Onchan 5-0.

Peel centre-back Dominic McGreevy was also in good fettle laying on a couple of goals as his side edged the seven-goal thriller out west.

St Mary’s Karl Clark completes the line-up after scoring one and teeing up another as the Saints emerged winners in a scrappy tie at Marown.

Referee of the Week honours go to Simon Wosser who shone with the whistle as Geordies beat Onchan.
