FC Isle of Man kicked off the new year with a potientially vital victory over promotion rivals New Mills at the Bowl on Monday afternoon.
The Ravens held their nerve to get the better of their opponents from Derbyshire in a hard-fought battle at the national stadium.
Chris Bass Sr’s charges opened the scoring in the 26th minute when winger Stephen Whitley shrugged off a couple of challenges before firing into the top left corner of the goal.
The English side equaliser shortly after half-time but the Ravens retook the lead only minutes later when Lee Gale crashed a shot in off the post.
That proved to be the winner as FC Isle of Man held on to triumph 2-1. Full report in this week’s Indy.
