FC Isle of Man were narrowly beaten on penalties by Guernsey FC on Saturday evening.
The Channel Island hosts went ahead through talisman Ross Allen only for Corinthians’ Sean Doyle to level things up for the Manx in the second half.
Chris Bass Sr’s Ravens pressed for a winner at Footes Lane, but couldn’t land a telling blow meaning spot-kicks would be required to separate the pair and decide the inaugural winner of the Skipton Cup.
Rushen goalkeeper Dean Kearns saved Guernsey’s first spot-kick, but the experienced Sean Quaye scuffed his effort from 12 yards wide as the Manx failed to press home their advantage.
As the shoot-out reached sudden death, Luke Murray saw his penalty saved by Guernsey keeper Josh Addison to hand the Green Lions the silverware 5-4.
